(from the National Boarder Patrol Council)

Border Patrol agents Ignacio "Nacho" Ramos and Jos้ Alonso Compean have been denied bond pending appeal and ordered to report to prison by 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2006.

This callous action by Judge Kathleen Cardone triggers a crisis of confidence in our judicial system. Imprisoning two innocent Border Patrol agents for defending themselves against an armed drug smuggler sends the clear message that the Bush Administration is more interested in keeping our borders wide open than it is in enforcing the rule of law.

The Border Patrol Agents Legal Defense and Relief Fund (not to be confused with the NBPC Legal Defense Fund or Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC) Legal Defense Fund) is designed to assist any Border Patrol employees who find themselves in financial distress as a result of an unwarranted criminal, civil and/or administrative action brought against them as result of any act or omission within the scope of their employment. The fund may be used to assist such employees with attorney fees, living expenses, and general financial needs. Because the coverage of the "Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Compean Relief Fund" was limited to those two agents, it did not qualify as a tax-exempt organization, and therefore donations to that fund were not tax-deductible. All donations that are designated for Agents Ramos and Compean will be used to fund their legal defense and assist their families in their hour of need.

Donations to the fund can be made by check payable to:
"BPA Legal Defense & Relief Fund"

Checks should be mailed to :

Here are the leading causes of accidental deaths in the year 2003:

Motor vehicles – 44,800
Falls – 16,200
Poisonings – 13,900
Chokings – 4,300
Drownings – 2,900
Fires, flames and smoke – 2,600
Suffocations – 1,200

I looked through pages and pages of this document
to find out about the horror of accidental shooting
deaths. I also looked in supplemental material
associated with the report.

I could find nothing.

Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.
...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than
to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

Larry Interviews Michael Moore

A delight for gun enthusiasts!

Product Description:
Michael Moore is a talented, provocative filmmaker, who challenged America's so-called
gun culture in "Bowling For Columbine." Television and radio talk-show host Larry Elder
tried-for a year-and-a-half-to interview Michael Moore. Larry wanted to ask him one basic
"You tell us how many gun deaths there are in America, but how many Americans are
alive because they were able to use a gun for self-defense?" Moore concludes that
America has "too many guns." But does it? Larry made this film in an attempt to answer
that question. Political pundits divide the country into blue states and red states. The
red states feel alienated by the likes of liberal demagogues like Michael Moore. Many
Americans own firearms, don't support additional gun control laws, live in one of some
34 states that allow citizens to carry concealed weapons, and support the Second
Amendment. This film speaks to them. For these people, this film might be "The
Passion"…of the Second Amendment.
